Severe Abrasion — AS-A

A specialised abrasion-resistant class for applications dominated by sliding wear.

Product overview

Built around the duty.

AS-A is selected when laboratory abrasion loss is the dominant cover criterion. It targets severe wear conditions, but a very low abrasion-loss result does not automatically make it the best compound for cutting, gouging, tearing or mechanical peeling.

AS 1332 tensile strength≥ 17 MPa
AS 1332 elongation at break≥ 400%
AS 1332 abrasion loss≤ 70 mm³

Construction & selection

What defines this product.

  • Very low permitted abrasion loss
  • Specialised wear-focused classification
  • Best selected from the actual wear mechanism
  • May be combined with carcass protection where impact or rip risk also exists

Typical applications

Where it fits.

  • 01Concentrated sliding abrasion
  • 02Fine, highly abrasive materials
  • 03Short high-wear conveyors
  • 04Applications with wear-dominated belt life

Relative performance profile

Specification note

These are AS-A minimum classification properties, not Double Arrow proprietary test results. Abrasion loss is only one part of compound selection and should not be used as a universal service-life prediction.
